The knower of the mystery of sound knows the mystery of the whole universe.

–Hazrat Inayat Khann

I am an international multi instrumentalist (11), singer songwriter and meditation instructor of 12 years. On a trip to Varanasi India, I was compelled to purchase a sitar and find a teacher. Classical Indian music opened me up to deeper meanings of sound and spirituality. When I returned from India I had a new take and direction for my music.  Since then I have developed and held the Holistic Sound Healing Sitar Session across the country and abroad.  -Haji Basim

The term meditation refers to a broad variety of practices that includes techniques designed to promote relaxation, build internal energy or life force (qi, ki, prana, etc.) and develop compassion, love, patience, generosity and forgiveness.

The rest in meditation is deeper than the deepest sleep that you can ever have. When the mind becomes free from agitation, is calm and serene and at peace, meditation happens.

What is meditation?

In today's world where stress catches on faster than the eye can see or the mind can perceive, meditation is no more a luxury. It is a necessity. To be unconditionally happy and to have peace of mind, we need to tap into the power of meditation.

Why meditate?

Sound helps to facilitate shifts in our brainwave state by using entrainment. Entrainment synchronizes our fluctuating brainwaves by providing a stable frequency which the brainwave can attune to. By using rhythm and frequency, we can entrain our brainwaves and it then becomes possible to down-shift our normal beta state (normal waking consciousness) to alpha (relaxed consciousness), and even reach theta (meditative state) and delta (sleep; where internal healing can occur).

How It Works

Sound healing is the use of specially crafted sounds to induce positive spiritual or medical effects.

Using sound as therapy can provide results for a variety of issues including:

  • Sleep disorders
